Brits have been hit by an urgent 48-hour warning as “extremists” have imminent plans to attack the Russian city of Moscow. Tourists have been told to “get out” immediately and avoid large gatherings and crowds.
The alerts cover a 48-hour period over International Women’s Day – a major holiday in Russia. There are concerns from authorities about several concerts due to go ahead linked to the March 8 celebration.
It was not clear which ‘extremists’ were believed to be plotting an outrage, but people have been told to avoid crowds, monitor the local media for updates, and be aware of surroundings.
The US embassy also reported on Thursday it was ‘monitoring reports that extremists have imminent plans to target large gatherings in Moscow, to include concerts, and U.S. citizens should be advised to avoid large gatherings over the next 48 hours’.
