Travis Kelce in talks to host ‘Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?’ reboot

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is reportedly in talks to host a reboot of the game show “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” for Amazon Prime Video.

According to Variety, a potential holdup to Kelce hosting the show is how much time he could commit to production while still playing football.

The quiz show, which originally premiered in 2007 and ran for several seasons with host Jeff Foxworthy, features adults trying to answer questions taken from elementary school textbooks. A 2019 iteration with more focus on the kids aired briefly on Nickelodeon with John Cena as the host.

The new streaming version would reportedly rely heavily on celebrity guests.

Kelce, who also hosts the “New Heights” podcast with recently retired brother Jason, previously appeared on the dating show “Catching Kelce” in 2016, well before the start of his whirlwind romance with Taylor Swift.

If he’s able to sign on for the series, Kelce would become the latest professional athlete to host a game show. NBA Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade has hosted “The Cube” since 2021, while NFL Hall of Famer Michael Strahan hosts, among other things, a reboot of “The $100,000 Pyramid.” Tennis champion John McEnroe hosted the short-lived “The Chair” in 2002, and Summer Sanders, who won four swimming medals — including two golds — at the 1992 Summer Olympics, hosted “Figure It Out” from 1997-1999.
