The cheapest Wetherspoon pint revealed – where you can get a beer for less than £2.70


Wetherspoon pub fans in many parts of the UK can still get a pint for £2.70 while the most expensive areas will set you back more than £4.

Research on behalf of Alt Index found there are eight areas of the UK offering the cheapest pint of most popular beer, Carling, for £2.63.

This includes parts of Scotland such as East Lothian, Inverclyde, and Stirling and Falkirk, while the only region of England to offer such an affordable bevvy was Rutland.

The top 20 cheapest areas all offer a pint for less than £3, including North Lanarkshire at £2.86 and East Yorkshire at £2.92.

The most expensive area for getting a beer was Inner London, at £4.76, while Edinburgh is also above the £4 mark, at £4.03.

Several large city areas topped the charts for the most expensive pint, with Leeds and Birmingham at £3.98 and Bristol at £3.78.

There were some stark contrasts between some large cities and their neighbouring areas, with a pint in Manchester priced at £3.56 while Greater Manchester was at £2.86. A Carling in Liverpool costs £3.63 while a pint in Merseyside costs £2.83.

The research did not include prices at Spoons pubs at UK airports, where drinks cost a lot more than in other areas.
