Suspect in Levittown, Pa. triple murder makes first court appearance

The man accused of killing his stepmom, sister and ex-girlfriend in a Philadelphia suburb earlier this month made his first court appearance on Wednesday.

Andre Gordon Jr., 26, attended the hearing in New Jersey Superior Court by video from Mercer County Jail. He waived his right to pretrial release and did not enter a plea.

Gordon faces several charges in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey in connection with the March 16 crime spree. An extradition hearing was scheduled for April 3, and Gordon’s defense lawyer said he would consent to extradition.

According to police, Gordon began his violent day by carjacking a vehicle in Trenton and driving to Levittown, Pa., just 5 miles south across the Delaware River.

In Levittown, Gordon went to a house where his father, stepmother and sister lived, investigators said. Once there, he fatally shot Karen Gordon, 52, and Kera Gordon, 13.

Gordon then drove to the nearby home of his ex-girlfriend, Taylor Daniel, and killed her in front of their two children, police said.

After the killings, Gordon carjacked a second vehicle in Morrisville, Pa., and drove back to Trenton, according to authorities.

Cops thought he was hiding out in a home in Trenton, but he apparently slipped out before officers surrounded the building. Gordon was arrested walking down a nearby street. He was unarmed when he was cuffed.

In Pennsylvania, Gordon is charged with three counts of murder, aggravated assault and several counts of burglary and robbery. In New Jersey, he’s charged with carjacking and several weapons offenses.
