As if! Alicia Silverstone’s been reimbursed by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for the hundreds she shelled out last year for a bougie vegan cheese she supplied for one of the presidential hopeful’s campaign events.
The “Clueless” star, 47, was reimbursed the entirety of the $427.25 she paid for goodies from Vromage, a Los Angeles’ vegan cheese shop, according to a Federal Elections Commission filing reviewed by TMZ.
The campaign committee listed the reimbursement under “report of receipts and disbursements,” per the outlet.
This comes nearly a year after Silverstone, formerly a Democrat, publicly endorsed the independent candidate, noting she’d been “deeply disappointed with political leadership at every turn.”
The son of former U.S. Attorney General and U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy, as well as the nephew of President John F. Kennedy, both of whom were assassinated, RFK Jr. is an environmental activist who has often waded into polarizing territory by promoting scientific misinformation — namely about vaccines. He also founded the anti-vax organization Children’s Health Defense.
A decade ago, in her book, “The Kind Mama: A Simple Guide to Supercharged Fertility, a Radiant Pregnancy, a Sweeter Birth, and a Healthier, More Beautiful Beginning,” Silverstone reportedly dismissed the “negative effects of such a rigorous one-size-fits-all, shoot-’em-up schedule.”
Noting she has “friends whose babies were drastically affected” by vaccines, Silverstone in the book pointed to “increasing anecdotal evidence” about parents frantically calling doctors “claiming their child was ‘never the same’ after receiving a vaccine.”
Referring to RFK Jr.’s candidacy as “an embarrassment,” his grandson Jack Schlossberg said last summer that he has “no idea why anyone thinks he should be president.”
Several of Kennedy’s siblings in October banded together to pen an open letter in which they referred to the campaign as “dangerous to our country.”
