Philadelphia police release images of SEPTA bus shooting suspects

Authorities in Pennsylvania are still on the hunt for a pair of suspects who opened fire on a group of students waiting for a SEPTA bus, killing one and wounding four others.

Dayemen Taylor, a 17-year-old student at Imhotep Institute Charter High School, was with several friends at a bus stop in the city’s Ogontz neighborhood in the moments before the gunfire erupted the afternoon of March 4. The group of teens had just finished school for the day when two people, at least one of whom had an automatic weapon, fired at him and his friends.

Some two weeks later, and investigators have yet to identify any potential suspects, though they have said the attack appeared to be targeted.

On Monday, the Philadelphia Police Department released photos of the suspected shooters and called on members of the community to come forward with any information they may have.

The first suspect can be seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the words “DON’T GET EMOTIONAL IT’S ONLY BROKEN PROMISES” on the back, and “EMOTIONAL” on the front, dark-colored pants and a mask, police said. The other was sporting a light-colored hooded jacket, dark-colored pants, and a mask.

Both suspects should be considered armed and dangerous. Police said the pair fired off more than 50 rounds during the deadly shooing earlier this month.

Taylor was fatally struck and he died a short time later at a nearby hospital. Another four people were wounded, including a 15-year-old boy who attempted to flee down the street, NBC Philadelphia reported. He suffered a graze wound to the shoulder, investigators said.

A 50-year-old woman also suffered a graze wound to her forearm while a 71-year-old woman was shot in the head. Another teen later showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound on his backside.

They are all expected to recover.
