The 23-year-old brother of Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes was sentenced to six months’ probation after pleading guilty to the misdemeanor battery of a restaurant owner he allegedly grabbed by the neck and kissed in her-now shuttered Kansas eatery last March.
Jackson Mahomes had been accused of three felony counts of aggravated sexual battery, but prosecutors dropped those charges against the influencer in January when the alleged victim became reluctant to cooperate, according to The Associated Press.
A waiter at the restaurant said Mahomes also assaulted him when he tried entering a room where the alleged victim was being manhandled.
The Overland Park eatery where the incident occurred closed in August. Its owner said she received death threats amid the ongoing investigation into the case against the brother of the Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback.
The younger Mahomes has been spotted watching his 28-year-old brother throw passes at Arrowhead Stadium and around the country.
In 2021, Mahomes’ bad behavior at a Chiefs’ road game in Washington had him apologizing after he “accidentally” danced on a memorial dedicated to murdered NFL player Sean Taylor and posted the moves online for his 1.1 million TikTok followers to see.
“I meant absolutely no disrespect to him or his family,” he later wrote.
