One dead in Flatbush, Brooklyn fire, FDNY says



A Brooklyn blaze claimed the life of one person Thursday, according to officials.

Firefighters were called to the two-story home on Regent Place near E. 21st St. in Flatbush just after 9:10 p.m., an FDNY spokesperson said.

Medics pronounced one person dead at the scene, they added. The victim’s identity was not immediately known.

It took 60 FDNY members from 12 units to knock down the flames, which were under control just after 10:10 p.m., officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
