Mike Tyson shows off in workout video ahead of fight with Jake Paul



Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson put his famous boxing skills on display in a video of his first training session for his bout with Jake Paul this summer.

“It’s day 1…the fun has just begun,” Tyson says at the end of the 10-second clip, which also shows him throwing punches and dodging hits with ease.

Tyson will be 58 years old when he faces off against 27-year-old Paul, a onetime YouTube star-turned-boxer. They are set to compete on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium Arlington, Tex., which is also home to the Dallas Cowboys.

Some expressed concern when the showdown was announced given Tyson’s ageshowdown was announced given Tyson’s age, but the boxing great looked as fit as ever in his shirtless social media clip, showing off his buff body as well as his agility and precision.

“If Tyson doesn’t win by KO it’s rigged. In no universe does Jake Paul survive,” one person quipped in the comments.

Another echoed the sentiment: “If Tyson loses it’s scripted.”

Iron Mike’s last competitive fight was 19 years ago, a loss to Kevin McBride in June 2005. He retired the same year, according to ESPN. Since then, Tyson has fought just once, an eight-round exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr. in July 2020.

Paul, meanwhile, most recently entered the ring in February, when he bested Ryan Bourland with a first-round knockout. The win brought his record to 9-1.
