Long Island man charged with raping 11-year-old girl at Westbury motel



A man from Baldwin, Long Island has been arrested and charged for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl at a Westbury motel last month.

Stephen Vickers-Griffiths, 35, was located by authorities at the Pines Motor Lodge, at 101 Taylor Avenue, where the alleged incident occurred on Feb. 26. He was taken into custody without incident, according to a press release issued Friday by Nassau County Police.

Vickers-Griffiths has been charged with rape in the first degree, two counts of criminal sexual act, attempted criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child.

It’s unclear if this was an isolated incident. An investigation is ongoing.
