Comedian John Mulaney is said to be surprisingly absent from his ex-wife’s upcoming memoir, despite fans’ speculation she’d rip him to shreds.
Anna Marie Tendler’s new book, “Men Have Called Her Crazy,” is not scheduled to be released until Aug. 13, but sources close to the situation have already said Mulaney is not mentioned — “either directly or indirectly” — in its more than 300 pages, according to TMZ.
Tendler, who was married to Mulaney for seven years before their split in 2021, announced the memoir in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
“I have been writing this book for two years. More accurately though I have been writing it for close to four decades,” she wrote in the caption. “I have never been more proud of any work. It is a story about mental health; about being a woman; about family. And finally, about the endless source of my heartbreak and rage — men.”
The 38-year-old multimedia artist has been outspoken about her divorce from Mulaney, which she said left her “heartbroken.”
Following her announcement, fans quickly expressed their excitement that the book might exact some sort of revenge on Mulaney, who almost immediately began dating actress Olivia Munn after their separation.
Further ire seems to be connected to that fact that just four months after their divorce was finalized, the “Big Mouth” star announced that he and Munn were expecting a child.
The news came after Mulaney had reportedly told Tendler he didn’t want to have kids, and while it’s unclear what exactly changed his mind, he and Munn have been together ever since.
“She’s going to END HIM,” one commentator wrote on the announcement of Tendler’s book.
“Imagine being *him* and getting the screenshots of this from his friends today,” said another.
However, Tendler’s book — reportedly avoiding Mulaney altogether — will focus more on her mental health journey, in addition to other men who have come and gone in her life, according to TMZ’s sources.
