US President Joe Biden has been savaged by a generally liberal comedian following numerous gaffes and senile moments as the 81-year-old gears up to face Donald Trump in the 2024 US Presidential election.
Popular late-night host Bill Maher brutally slammed the US President’s age and even performed a mock State of the Union address using a walker.
The host claimed that Biden should stop denying the obvious and lean into his old age.
Maher, 68, said: “Instead of trying to refute all the too old to be president slams, Joe must embrace them. Stop with the ‘I’m sharper than ever’ nobody’s buying that. Don’t try to deny the age thing lean into it. Lean in, lean in like you’re eating soup.”
The late-night host added: “Just admit it say yes, I’m bad with names and I walk like a toddler with a full diaper. I believe in democracy. So next Thursday when the President delivers the State of the Union. I say he should let his old fart flag fly.”
Maher then performed a savage skit of himself as Biden delivering an error-ridden speech to Congress using a walker dubbed “Walker One”.
In the skit, he said: “My friends when I first came here as a senator Washington welcomed me with open arms… You don’t want a young person in charge of our defense. We need a president who can stand up to Russia and say to its current president, Mr. Gorbachev, get off my lawn.”
The brutal satire came just one day after Biden appeared to confuse the Gaza Strip in the Middle East with Ukraine, twice.
Joe Biden’s first term in office has been dogged by gaffes and stumbles leading Republican critics to allege the 81-year-old is no longer mentally fit to lead the free world.
Biden was recently given a health check by his doctor but did not take a cognitive test with the White House claiming the President didn’t require it.
His top contender is Donald Trump who is 77 years old.
