Less than a week after Gypsy Rose Blanchard took out a restraining order against her estranged husband, Ryan Anderson has filed one against her.
The 37-year-old special education teacher filed the order last Thursday against Blanchard, 32, who had filed hers on Monday, according to court records reviewed by People. Blanchard filed for divorce the same day.
Blanchard and Anderson wed in July 2022 in prison She was serving a 10-year second-degree murder sentence for persuading then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn to murder her allegedly abusive mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. Experts believe Dee Dee suffered from Munchausen by proxy, as she falsely claimed Gypsy Rose suffered from the likes of leukemia and muscular dystrophy and even kept her wheelchair-bound.
Blanchard was released from prison late last year, having served eight years of her sentence.
She reportedly announced in a private Facebook post late last month that she and Anderson were “going through a separation.
“I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need to let myself find… who I am,” Blanchard wrote at the time.
Friends of Blanchard subsequently claimed she became “afraid” of Anderson, whose behavior started to remind her of her mother.
