Donte DiVincenzo buries 11 triples setting Knicks franchise record as they blow out shorthanded Pistons

Donte DiVincenzo had the hot hand in Monday night’s blowout victory over the Detroit Pistons.

The sharpshooter knocked down 11 threes to set an all-time Knicks record in their 124-99 win. DiVincenzo registered 40 points — his second straight game putting up 30 or more.

The Knicks moved within a half-game of the Cleveland Cavaliers for the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Jalen Brunson also checked in with another brilliant performance. The point guard poured in 28 points on 10-of-20 shooting playing a light 30 minutes as Tom Thibodeau was able to keep his star on the bench for a good portion of the second half.

Josh Hart picked up his sixth triple-double of the season putting up 11 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. Hart joined Walt Frazier, Micheal Ray Richardson, Richie Guerin and Julius Randle as the only Knicks to record at least six triple-doubles in a single season.

Overall, it was — as expected — an easy victory for the Knicks as the Eastern Conference Playoff picture begins to take its mold. Thibodeau’s squad will head to Toronto on Wednesday as they head down the final stretch of the season.
