Christian Horner urges F1 to ‘draw a line under’ chaos as questions on accuser answered

Christian Horner has urged the sport to ‘draw a line under’ the situation involving his Red Bull future ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

The Red Bull team principal was cleared of any wrongdoing ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix following a lengthy internal investigation but alleged ‘leaked’ messages and pictures circulated in the paddock soon after, adding fuel to the fire.

Max Verstappen’s father, Jos, then sparked more controversy when he went public with information of a ‘blazing row’ between himself and Horner, while also accusing the team principal of ‘playing the victim’.

The latest twist in the tale came on Thursday morning ahead of the Saudi Arabian GP when Red Bull decided to suspend the employee at the heart of the investigation.

Quizzed about the latest development on Thursday, Horner said: “I’m afraid I can’t comment on anything that’s confidential between the employee and the company so I can’t offer you anything on that.”

The 50-year-old did offer a stronger comment on the ongoing speculation, noting: “Obviously there’s been an awful lot of coverage surrounding this.

“But we have to go back to the basis, the grievance was raised it was fully investigated and it was dismissed and from there we move onwards.
