Call of Duty Warzone release date countdown – Launch time, Day Zero event, control options

Call of Duty fans are counting down to the release of Warzone Mobile. Activision’s hugely popular Battle Royale experience will be available to download and play for free on iOS and Android devices. Officially, Warzone Mobile has a March 21 release date and a 4pm GMT UK launch time. However, in a bid to avoid any potential delays and server issues, Activision has already started to roll out the game to different regions. Indeed, if you pre-registered for Call of Duty Warzone Mobile ahead of launch, then you might want to check out your email just in case.

The game is still listed as ‘Coming Soon’ on the UK iOS App Store, but hopefully it won’t remain that way for long.

As a reminder, anybody who pre-registered for Warzone Mobile will receive a host of in-game bonuses.

This includes the Ghost ‘Condemned’ Operator Skin, as well as the M4 ‘Archfiend’ and X12 ‘Prince of Hell’ Weapon Blueprints.

That’s on top of additional bonus rewards, such as the ‘Foe’s Flame’ Vinyl and the ‘Dark Familiar’ Emblem.

Call of Duty Warzone Mobile contains the Battle Royale maps of Verdansk and Rebirth Island, as well as Shipment, Shoot House, and Scrapyard.

The game also supports cross-platform progression with the console and PC versions of Warzone and Modern Warfare 3.

Provided you login with your existing Activision ID, most of the content acquired in Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Warzone will be transferred to Warzone Mobile.

Likewise, any XP earned across the latest Call of Duty releases will be transferred between consoles versions, PC and mobile.

There are some limitations, however, with a selection of Modern Warfare Zombies and other Battle Pass content not available in Warzone Mobile.

Elsewhere, Activision has detailed the different control options available to players at launch.

The default method is touch controls, which can be tweaked and customised to make it suitable for each individual.

Bluetooth controllers can also be used, such as the Xbox Wireless Controller or PlayStation DualShock.

Finally, Activision has teamed with Backbone to make the Backbone One controller fully compatible with Warzone Mobile.

Finally, Activision has announced plans to hold a special Warzone Mobile launch event called Operation: Day Zero.

The Day Zero event tasks players with earning Event Points by completing Event Actions within a variety of different zones.

Event Actions include opening a Supply Box, eliminating an enemy player, landing a headshot or completing a contract.

Players can use the points to unlock rewards like emblems, Operators, vehicle skins and lots more.
