Boy, 8, nabbed with gun at Brooklyn school, used it to menace another student: NYPD

An 8-year-old boy was nabbed with a gun at a Brooklyn elementary school Thursday morning which he used on Wednesday to menace another boy at the school, police said.

The incidents occurred at PS 158, also known as The Warwick Community School, on Ashford St. in East New York.

The boy who was menaced on Wednesday went home and told his mother, said police. He and his mother returned to the school on Thursday and reported the incident to school officials, who called police.

Police went to the school and interviewed the boy who had been menaced, and then found the 8-year-old, said cops.

Officers searched the 8-year-old’s backpack and found the weapon, police said.

The age of the boy who was menaced was not released.

Because of the age of the child suspect, details about his identity and the proceedings in his case were not released.

In cases involving young children, police typically file a juvenile report to document the incident, and then release the youthful suspect into a parent’s custody.
