Wales, known for its abundance of countryside and lively cities, has been a popular spot for house hunters. Where once major English cities would have taken the top spot, properties in Swansea and Carmarthenshire have dominated the list. Zoopla, a British property company based in London, said a five-bedroom home in Llanelli on sale for £550,000 has stolen the top spot as the most-viewed property.
This is also an ideal spot for London commuters going into central, with the journey taking just 29 minutes.
Also located a commuting distance to London is this three-bed terraced house on sale for £300,000 in Tadworth, Surrey.
The property, which came in ninth place on the list, has a fantastic semi-rural location with access to Epsom, Banstead and Sutton.
A south-facing garden and off-street parking are also key features in this property.
Prime properties are also capturing the attention of the nation with this luxurious six bedroom mansion in West Yorkshire coming in fifth place on the list.
On the market for an eye-watering £2,375,000, Alton Hall has plenty of luxurious features including a 15-metre outdoor heated pool, six en-suite double bedrooms, cinema and fully-equipped gym.
The property also has a pool house with a spacious living area, floating wood burning stove and wet room style bathroom.
Featuring in tenth place is another stunning, prime property located in Newquay, Cornwall.
This architecturally designed five-bed detached house is on sale for £2,750,000.
With breathtaking views over the River Gannel tidal estuary, the riverside home also boasts a summer house, plunge pool and a modern, open plan living space.
Tom Parker, Consumer Spokesperson at Zoopla said homes in Wales are “capturing the attention” of buyers with properties in Swansea and Carmarthenshire “dominating” the top ten.
He added: “With the memory of lockdown still fresh for many people, demand for coastal properties is increasing and with both areas located by the coast and offering reasonably priced properties, this might help explain why they are proving particularly popular.”
