Will furlough be extended again?
The lockdown will remain in place until at least June, Boris Johnson announced this week.
While the four-step plan will see a great deal of businesses reopen on April 12, such as non-essential retail and hairdressers, others will remain shut until May.
On May 17, more than two weeks after the current furlough expiry date of April 30, cinemas, indoor restaurants and hotels will be able to reopen.
Then from June 21, at the earliest, nightclubs can also reopen – meaning that as it stands, these businesses could stand to make losses.
