Malcolm Graham (played by Kevin Rankin) was one of the first major villains in Lucifer. He was introduced in season one as a member of the LAPD with a secret. However, some viewers might be wondering why he left the show and what happened to his character.
Why did Malcolm Graham star Kevin Rankin leave Lucifer?
When season one of Lucifer was first broadcast on Fox, Kevin Rankin was one of the original cast members.
He played Malcolm in the show, who Chloe Decker (Lauren German) was convinced was a dirty cop.
Fans will remember how he was shot by Dan Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro) in the first season when he met up with some gang members.
He fell into a coma but Chloe was convinced he was not actually a hero but was hiding something.

As a result, he was sent to Hell for good in the 13th episode of season one.
Viewers have not seen Rankin return as the character since, making some wonder why exactly he left the show.
The actor revealed more in an interview with Metro.co.uk back in 2020 when he confirmed he was only supposed to be on the show for a set amount of episodes.
He explained: “Malcolm was calibrated to burn hot – and wasn’t meant to be around for long.”
However, the star did also reveal he was not opposed to the idea of making a return for the right storyline.
He continued: ‘I never like to force things but if it happened naturally and there was a real story they wanted to tell involving Malcolm to end it all? #TeamMalcolm.”
Rankin is not the only one who wants his character to return as Dan actor Kevin Alejandro also voiced his hope he would come back.
He also told the publication in 2019: “I’d like to see Kevin Rankin come back!
“He was the Big Bad in season one. It’d be cool to see that unfold because that’s what started this world. Right?”
Since starring in Lucifer, Rankin has gone on to appear in shows like Claws and The Umbrella Academy.
He also reprised his Breaking Bad role of Kenny in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie.
Other film roles have included Hell or High Water, Skyscraper and The Jury.
Lucifer season 5, part 1 is available on Netflix now.
