White House cuts off Biden feed seconds after US President offers to take public questions

President Joe Biden was addressing US lawmakers on a virtual White House call when the stream ended abruptly. The incident comes amid raised concerns over the 78-year-old’s health. During a recent visit to Houston, Texas Mr Biden appeared confused while giving a speech as he made a number of mistakes. On Wednesday, the President’s feed was cut moments after Biden said he was “happy to take questions.”

The footage of the incident has since gone viral on social media, racking up over one million views in less than 24-hours.

“I’d be happy to take questions if that’s what I’m supposed to do, Nance,” Mr Biden can be heard saying to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

“Whatever you want me to do.”

Following a short pause, in which Biden sits waiting for a prompt, the stream ends suddenly.

Joe Biden is the oldest US President in history.

The US President is 78 and will be 82 years old by the time his 4-year term ends.

During his address in Texas the 46th US President was heard to ask “what am I doing here” and admitted that he was losing track.

Mr Biden said: “Good afternoon, actually it is evening, I want to thank you, Governor, for your hospitality and friendship.

Political commentator Iain Dale has told Express.co.uk that Biden’s “decline” could spark “national trauma” in the United States if Washington is forced to replace him.

He said: “It is quite clear to anybody who looks at Joe Biden and compares him to the Joe Biden of 10 or 20 years ago that there is a decline there.

“Obviously, if he died in office it would be automatic that Kamala Harris would take over.

“But what if his mental powers declined so much that she had to take over?
