Data from Public Health England (PHE) shows cases have more than doubled in the UK during May.

The first week of May saw 520 cases and another 793 this week, adding up to 1,313.

Some of these cases have emerged in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, where authorities have detected 35, 11 and 12 infections.

But the bulk of these cases have settled in England, around the Midlands.
