When can pubs open for drinking indoors?
As long as everything goes to plan between now and the next stage of reopening, pubs should reopen to customers on an indoor basis on May 17.
The provisional date, if it goes ahead, will be a relief for pubs and patrons who’ve not been able to enjoy a pint in the pub since January 3.
From mid-May, customers will be able to sit inside – but pubs will have to continue offering table service.
When sitting inside, the rule of six or two households meeting will continue to apply in all situations.
