Wheeler Dealer host on reported sightings of stolen classic Ford Fiesta

Wheeler Dealers host Mike Brewer has admitted there have been reported sightings of his stolen Ford Fiesta Mk1 taken by criminals last year.

The TV host admitted viewers had been in touch saying they had seen the classic car and the tailor it was being carried in at the time.

However, Mike revealed nothing had ever come of the reports with the iconic Ford still missing to this day.

Mike admitted it was “such a shame” the team never got the Fiesta back to their garage as he accepted the classic was “gone”.

Almost a year has passed since the model was taken while filming series 13 of Wheeler Dealers which aired last Autumn.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Mike said: “It’s completely gone from the face of the Earth. Unfortunately, we have never heard a squeak out of West Midlands Police.

“People have said they have seen it and reported the trailer but unfortunately it’s never been followed up and we don’t want to chase villains down the road.

“It’s gone, unfortunately. It is no more and it is such a shame as there were only four registered in the UK. It’s such a shame that the car is no more.”

The Fiesta was taken by thieves in a hotel car park just hours before Mike and co-host Marc Priestley were set to lift the covers on their restoration.

Mike had secured the model for just £4,000 after negotiating with the original seller down from the initial £5,000 asking price.

The team had only just finished painstakingly restoring the Mk1 chassis with over £11,000 in repairs.

The car’s engine was completely refitted with new water and oil pumps fitted as well as bodywork tweaks.

The work was conducted as a special tribute to the Fiesta name which was discontinued by Ford last year.
