Viral border collie’s incredible opera voice – ‘I want this dog to sing at my funeral'

The 16-month-old border collie put on a harmonious singing performance which has gone viral on TikTok. His vocal talents left viewers in awe, with some going as far as comparing his song to the likes of Ave Maria and Phantom of the Opera. In the video that was uploaded by Julia Szypulska, from Warsaw in Poland, the canine opera star performs a powerful rendition as he sits high up on a windowsill, hitting a range of high and low notes.

Captioned ‘Born to be opera singer’, the dramatic performance was such a hit, the video soon began racking up millions of views.

Julia says Nico has been singing ever since he was a puppy and now he sings everyday.

Julia, 19, said: “He starts singing when he is happy or when he wants our attention.”

Little did the retail assistant know that Nico would attract more attention than expected. The video has had almost seven million views and 2.2 million likes.

But the highest praise came from London’s world-famous Royal Opera House. “Amazing stuff!” they said. “We’ll be in touch soon.”

Julia was shocked at the response the video received. She said: “This was my first video on TikTok, so I definitely didn’t expect so many views.

“He makes me happy and I’m so proud. He can always cheer me up.”

Julia has promised Nico’s fans more opera singing videos to show off his impressive talent.

“I wrote off and said I needed him with me at all times because I’m emotionally damaged and I must have this therapy dog.” says Lloyd Webber.

“The airline wrote back and said, ‘Can you prove that you really need him?’ And I said ‘Yes, just see what Hollywood did to my musical “Cats.”’

Then the approval came back with a note saying, ‘No doctor’s report required.’”

The black Havanese is named Mojito, and features in a number of posts on the composer’s official Instagram account – including a video of Andrew Lloyd Webber teaching the puppy to go down a children’s slide.
