Although skipping ahead nearly a decade allowed the series to go where it needed to go at a quicker pace, it was still disconcerting to see Vikings gloss over such a vital portion of Ragnar’s story.

Vikings will eventually continue with an upcoming sequel series on Netflix, Vikings: Valhalla, though sadly the follow-up isn’t expected to feature Travis Fimmel or any of the original cast.

Season six may have brought the series to a satisfying end, but it seems some mysteries are doomed to remain unsolved.
