Union Jack or Union Flag? There's one right way of saying it

Admiralty – which flew the flag from the staffs of their ships – called it the Union Jack.

The Admiralty Circular made this official in 1902, which Parliament ratified.

Officially, they stated it should be “regarded as the national flag” in 1908.

But modern perceptions of the flag have changed, with some slight adjustments to what the Union Jack means.
