UFC star Giga Chikadze suspended INDEFINITELY and can only fight again after MRI scan after savage beating

GIGA CHIKADZE has received an indefinite medical suspension following his brutal loss to Calvin Kattar.

The flashy Georgian kickboxer headlined the first UFC card of 2022 in Las Vegas last weekend against fellow featherweight standout Kattar.

But he was on the receiving end of a one-sided beatdown that left him with horrific cuts and bruising on his face.

And Kattar’s handiwork – which included some nasty elbows – has prompted the Nevada Athletic Commission to suspend Chikadze indefinitely.

Chikadze, 33, will not be permitted to compete or take part in any contact training until he’s cleared by the commission.

Additionally, the former GLORY featherweight will have to undergo an MRI before being evaluated by a neurosurgeon within the next two weeks.

Although he was victorious, New England Cartel member Kattar didn’t escape a medical suspension.

The Bostonian is facing a potential six-month stint on the sidelines due to a nasal fracture, although he could return sooner if he’s given clearance by an ENT doctor.

The NAC has also prohibited him from competing until March 2 at the earliest, with no contact being permitted until Feb 15.

Despite being on the receiving end of a virtuoso Kattar performance, Chikadze showed immense heart in his first octagon defeat.

And the Tbilisi titan still believes he’s a better fighter than Kattar.

He said: “I f****d up last night, but it’s all good. It’s the journey. I’m learning from this.

“Next time, I’m going to come back so much stronger.

“I already feel bad for my future opponents, so I’m going to learn a lot from this one. “rust me on that.

“Also, I feel like if I would fight with this guy 10 times, nine I would win. That would be the one I would lose, and that was last night.

“It is what it is. I made mistakes, and I’m paying now with that. It’s all good.

“I’m unbreakable, remember this s**t. Georgians are always unbreakable. This is how we fight, until the f***ing end.”

The UFC returns to pay-per-view action this weekend with a heavyweight unification bout between undisputed and interim titleholders Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane.
