The shopper took to Reddit to announce that after several months of waiting, the viral Frozen Blueberry Waffles have landed back on the shelves.
The delicious breakfast essential, priced at just $2.79, was just one of the many products that had to be recalled last year, amid the risk of listeria contamination.
TreeHouse Foods, a private brands snacking and beverage manufacturer, first announced a voluntary recall of frozen waffles in October after routine testing at the manufacturing plant, Fox News reported.
The recall was expanded to include all products manufactured at one facility and still within their shelf-life, including frozen toaster waffle, Belgian waffle and pancake products.
The mega company said these products were distributed throughout all U.S. states and provinces in the neighbouring Canada.
They were sold at most grocery stores, including Albertson’s, Aldi, Dollar General, Foodhold, Kroger, Target, Trader Joe’s, and Walmart.
Some well-known brands were part of the recall, including 365 Organic, Great Value, Kodiak Cakes, and Simple Truth.
Listeria infection can be deadly for older people, pregnant women and those with weakened immune systems.
Listeriosis sufferers may experience a range of symptoms such as “fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms,” the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service warned.
However, following the urgent recall last October, it seems that some of the products have now landed back on shelves – including the fan favorite waffles.
One delighted foodie, from Massachusetts, took to Reddit to announce the news with a snap of the breakfast staple they had spotted.
”Frozen blueberry waffles are back in stock! MA.”
The post, shared just two days age, has sent Americans wild, with dozens flooding to comments.
One Trader Joe’s fan is to be running to their local store, as they wrote: ”NO WAYYYY!! I’ve missed these!”
Someone else chimed in: ”Awesome! Now I need those frozen GF waffles back.”
Top Grocery Delivery Apps:
Shoppers can save time by getting someone else to get their groceries for them using a variety of apps and services.
Instacart: Works with major retailers including Albertsons, ALDI, Costco, CVS, Kroger, Sam’s Club, and Wegmans. Groceries can be delivered as quickly as one hour and can be arranged to suit your schedule. However, prices can differ compared to those that are in-store. There is a $99 per year or $9.99 per month membership fee.
Amazon Fresh: This is an off-shoot of Amazon. It offers customers fresh groceries and household goods. The service works similarly to Instacart and offers same-day delivery and exclusive offers to those with Amazon Prime.
Walmart Grocery: Walmart shoppers can place orders via the Walmart app and either pick them up or have them delivered to their door. The retailer calls it “the easiest way to shop.”
Shipt: Membership costs $99 per year with unlimited free deliveries on orders over $35. It enables customers to speak directly with their assigned Shipt shoppers to make special requests. The company also works closely with Target.
Kroger Delivery: Kroger shoppers can get their groceries taken to their door at a delivery time that suits them. It also offers customers the chance to spend digital coupons so they do not miss out on key deals. However, the retailer’s service does not offer same-day delivery.
Target Same-Day Delivery: Orders can arrive within a few hours of being placed. Shoppers can get real-time updates on their orders which will allow for last-minute changes and special requests. Target states that there are “no delivery markups” and Target Circle deals are included. Shoppers can pay per delivery or become a Target Circle 360 member for unlimited deliveries.
”Yes! It’s been too long,” another agreed.
However, if you were looking to enjoy the waffles with some orange juice to kickstart your day, you’ll be in for a disappointment.
According to furious Trader Joe’s shoppers, the mega supermarket has quietly discontinued their own brand Organic Orange Juice.
According to shoppers, they’ve recently had no luck in finding the ”no pulp” juice that comes in a carton and a bright orange lid.
Some people stated that they’ve tried searching for the healthy drink in multiple branches – but unfortunately, with no luck.
One furious Redditor said: ”The organic orange juice that came in the carton was a household favorite but I haven’t seen it on the shelf for weeks now.
”I’ve checked a couple stores and neither have the price tag displayed anymore either.”
The social media user, who posts under the username @sj_numba1, wondered: ”Did it get discontinued?”
Although customers can snap up the same juice in a plastic container, critics have noted that this version is nothing like the carton juice.
