Wetherspoon is pillar of UK pub culture and an establishment many people deem their local.

Renowned for their cheap and cheerful offering of food and drink, including an extensive alcohol menu, JD Wetherspoons pubs are hard to resist by those who love a bargain.

And now the current top 10 ‘spoons’ pubs in the country have been revealed, with the north of England coming out on top for some of the best-reviewed locations.

Ratings and Google reviews have determined the most sought-after spots, collated by research experts at Q.R. Code Generator.

The Buck Inn, North Yorkshire landed the final position in the top 10, with an impressive 54.97 percent of “excellent” reviews.

The pub has 470 five-star Google reviews, including one which read: “I’ve been here a couple of times, and food is always great. Tables are cleaned regularly, and the wait times are never too long unless packed. The outdoor area is lovely, and the heaters are a nice touch. 9/10 would recommend.”

9. The Velvet Coaster, Blackpool

With a staggering 5,798 five-star reviews, the pub is loved for its outdoor seating, “great cocktails”, and “friendly staff”. One glowing review read: “Great location with views of the North Sea and the theme park. There’s three opportunities for outdoor seating due to the rarity of a first and second floor terrace. Vibrant atmosphere and great service. In my top 10 out of 425 spoons visited.”

8. The Prense Well, Merseyside

The Prense Well has a measly 205 top-rated reviews, but it gained eighth place for its “good choice of food and beer nice service”. While some customers praised the “hot and tasty breakfast”, others claimed the pub is understaffed.

With an impressive 55.53 percent of “excellent’ Google reviews, this Wetherspoons pub has been complimented for its “great staff, brilliant food and excellent service”.

This Headingley pub is rated 4.2 out of five stars on Google, and is well-reviewed for its food, staff and spacious setting. One reviewer wrote: “This has to be the most historically beautiful Wetherspoons Pub I have ever visited. It is absolutely huge!!! The staff are some of the friendliest and welcoming we have ever met and the food was lovely.”

5. Stick or Twist, Leeds

Taking another spot in the top 10 is a second West Yorkshire ‘spoons’, Stick or Twist. Located in the Leeds Arena Quarter, the pub has an impressive 4.4 stars out of five on Google, attracting happy customers who enjoy the “great beer, service and atmosphere”.

This is one of 55 Wetherspoon hotels in the UK and well-reviewed with 955 five star ratings. Located in Northolt, this Wetherspoons destination costs £79 per night and offers “fluffy towels and pillows” in hotel rooms, with “good food and very cheap drinks” in the pub below.

3. The Caley Picture House, Edinburgh

Located in a former cinema, this ‘spoons’ pub has 6,673 Google reviews and an average 4.4 stars out of five. Many happy customers have praised it for the quick service, and “nice quality” food, though some say the toilets are “a bit of a trek”.

2. Royal Victoria Pavilion, Kent

With 58.48 percent of reviews rated “excellent”, this suave Ramsgate pub earned the second spot in the ranking for its glowing customer experiences. One person claimed: “One of the best Wetherspoons I have visited. The location is just perfect with a sea view and beautiful open seating option. If you have been to Wetherspoons you know the menu and the food. As always great taste and amazing value for money. I love their cocktails and small plates. If you love Wetherspoons, this one is definitely special.”

Rated the best Wetherspoon in the UK with 60.34 percent top reviews, The Bishop Blaize is located right next to the home of Manchester United FC, Old Trafford. Described as “cosy” and “nice” by some, other fans have claimed its “the best place to have a drink before a Man United game”, adding: “Fully packed with singing fans, it’s a must for every United fan to visit.”
