Former President of the United States Donald Trump has issued a message of goodwill in support of Tiger Woods, who was seriously hurt in a car accident in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The 45-year-old’s vehicle rolled multiple times and came to a stop on its side off the road, before the golf star was rushed to hospital to undergo surgery on ‘multiple leg injuries’.
Woods had been in Los Angeles after hosting the PGA Genesis Invitational tournament over the weekend and filming for GolfTV with a number of other famous faces.
Trump, a keen golfer himself, has joined in on the outpouring of support for Woods with a Twitter message via his spokesperson, Jason Miller.
“Get well soon, Tiger,” the statement reads. “You are a true champion!”
Trump was famously banned from Twitter and a wide range of other social media sites in the wake of the violence at the United States Capitol Building in January.
