The Who are an unwavering force to be reckoned with – review

Fans were no doubt thankful that The Who dropped their biggest songs throughout the night. Sure, that probably isn’t a surprise, but you never know with these legends.

The Acid Queen and Pinball Wizard, naturally, were standouts of the set. With Daltrey’s voice really shrieking through to the end, it was one of the moments throughout the night that pointed out The Who really are world class.

For me, though, seeing Behind Blue Eyes played acoustically was a magical experience that left the thousands of fans in attendance in a stunned silence.

It wasn’t all reverence and patience, though; The Who are still a rock band to be reckoned with.

Through some raucous microphone swinging and windmill guitar playing, Both Daltrey and Townshend proved they still had “it”.

We’re Not Gonna Take It, Substitute and Won’t Get Fooled Again showcased their prowess and dedication to remaining – even at 80-years-old – rebellious.
