June Osbourne (played by Elisabeth Moss) may be in the safety of Canada, however, she felt terrible arriving without her daughter Hannah (Jordana Blake). Shockingly, the star of The Handmaid’s Tale revealed that Hannah won’t leave Gilead.

Since the Gileadean authorities ripped Hannah out of her arms, June’s main goal has been to retrieve her daughter from the family she was housed with and escape Gilead.

As a Handmaid, one of June’s main duties was to endure getting raped by her owner Commander Fred Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) while his wife Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski) held her down.

In order to provide the seemingly barren couple with a child, eventually, June got pregnant and after giving birth she was able to help fellow Handmaid Emily Malek (Alexis Bledel) escape Gilead with baby Nichole.

In the episode titled Night, viewers watched as Emily made it to Canada, handing Nichole over to June’s husband Luke Bankole (O.T. Fagbenle), and her best friend Moira Strand (Samira Wiley).

On the escape, June made it halfway with Emily until she decided against going as she couldn’t bear the thought of leaving Hannah behind.

Throughout the series, fans have watched as June made multiple unsuccessful attempts to escape with her daughter.

June only made it to Canada after Moira rescued her from war-torn Chicago and pledged she would help her find Hannah.

Realising that going back to Gilead would be a suicide mission, June joined Moira and became a free woman.

In the most recent episode of the dystopian series, June was finally able to face her abusers.

With Fred and Serena in custody and facing trial for their roles in establishing Gilead, June was able to give her testimony in front of the court.

She was able to detail all the abuse she endured in what seemed like a triumphant and implicating witness statement.

However, despite all the evidence stacked against them, the Waterfords seemed to have gained fans.
