Tesla recalls 2,500 cars after fears software failure may increase 'risk of an accident'

The recall notice said: “For more information, or if you receive a vehicle alert signalling storage device degradation or are experiencing a persistent black centre display that does not recover after restarting the touchscreen, consumers can contact Tesla customer service”.

The latest recall comes just months after a similar issue involving Tesla vehicles in the United States.

In February, a large number of Model S and Model X cars were called back over failing touchscreens.

The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) sent Tesla a letter requesting a recall in January.
