TEEN Mom OG star Maci Bookout admitted she has “debilitating insomnia.”

The 30-year-old admitted her lack of sleep is caused by the gas station shooting she witnessed and her PCOS battle.

Maci admitted to suffering from ‘debilitating insomnia’

During Tuesday’s episode of Teen Mom OG, Maci appeared exhausted as she said in a voiceover: “Witnessing the shooting has given be debilitating insomnia.

“The lack of sleep and my PCOS makes it so much harder to regulate my blood sugar.”

PCOS- which stands for Polycystic ovary syndrome- is when the ovaries produce an abnormal amount of androgens, which are male sex hormones that women typically only have small amounts of.

Later in the episode, Maci’s husband Taylor McKinney suggested Maci talk to a doctor about her PCOS.

The MTV star responded: “I’m tired of doctors.

“I feel defeated, so I don’t want to get my hopes up.”

Maci then FaceTimed her friends from a PCOS support group, where she discussed her health struggles.

After sharing she has been struggling with “severe fatigue,” she said: “I’m not gonna act like I put a lot of effort into finding a good diet.

“I realize that I’m not taking care of myself.”

Maci concluded: “I’ll be 30 this year and I want to start now so that I’m not, 10 years later, turning 40 and I haven’t done anything.”

PRAISE FOR MACI

As the emotional storyline played out, Teen Mom viewers rushed to Twitter to praise Maci for bringing attention to her PCOS battle.

One person wrote: “Being a woman who struggles with Infertility, PCOS, and mental health.. I truly understand where @MaciBookout is coming from. Thank you for truly speaking out and bringing light to this disease!”

Another added: “Thank you Maci for talking about PCOS because it is no joke.”
