Taylor Swift stops Edinburgh Eras Tour show to help fan in need

Taylor Swift stopped yet another concert to help a fan in need, telling the crowd at the Edinburgh leg of her Eras Tour that she wouldn’t resume the setlist until the fan got help.

The 34-year-old Grammy winner issued her call to action in the Scottish capital Friday night, in the midst of an acoustic mashup of “I Know Places” and “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve,” according to a clip circulating on social media.

“We need help right in front of me, please,” Swift said into the mic as she continued strumming her guitar.

“I’m just gonna keep playing ’til somebody helps them,” she added, using the neck of her guitar to point to a spot in the crowd. “We’re not gonna keep singing, we’re just gonna keep talking about the people that need help in front of me. … I can do this all night.”

Though it’s not clear what happened to prompt the call for help, the fan was eventually located and given assistance.

“We’re good? Awesome!” Swift reportedly shouted, before continuing the show as planned.

The “All Too Well” singer similarly stopped her acoustic set while performing in Stockholm, Sweden, to help a fan last month.

Late last year, Ana Clara Benevides Machado died during a record-breaking heat wave that occurred during Swift’s concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

In a since-expired Instagram Story, Swift said she had a “shattered heart” upon learning of the 23-year-old’s death.

“I’m not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it,” she wrote at the time. “I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil.”

Swift ultimately postponed the next night’s performance due to the extreme temperatures in Rio, noting that the safety of her “fans, fellow performers, and crew has to and always will come first.”
