Sporting stars take to the red carpet for the Sport Industry Awards

Sports stars took to the red carpet on Wednesday for the Sports Industry Awards held in London.

Held at Evolution in the capital, the event was seen as the industry reuniting on one night after 18 months of restrictions.

It also celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Sports Industry Awards and 14 awards were up for grabs.

Among those to take to the red carpet were rugby star Maro Itoje who was recently part of the Lions tour of South Africa.  

Boxing promoters Barry and son Eddie Hearn were also in attendance as Matchroom Boxing was up for Virtual Event of the Year with Fight Camp.

Paralympic legend Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson was also at the awards which were hosted by sports television and radio personality Laura Woods.

Among the 14 awards to be presented on the night included categories such as International Creativity, cutting edge and Sports Podcast of the Year. 

Liverpool was nominated with Nivea Men for their Campaign Share the Care, while Chelsea’s Mike’d up and Manchester United’s ‘Utd Podcast’ made the shortlist for Sports Podcast.
