‘Sister Wives’ star Meri Brown honors Garrison after death by suicide

“Sister Wives” star Meri Brown is honoring the memory of Garrison Brown, son of Janelle and Kody Brown, three weeks after the 25-year-old’s death by apparent suicide.

On Tuesday, the 53-year-old TLC personality, who’s one of former polygamist Kody’s ex-wives, reflected on the “rollercoaster of emotions” characteristic of grief, as she commemorated Garrison’s death as well as that of her mother.

“Today, March 26, marks 3 years since the passing of my beautiful mom, and 3 weeks since the passing of our sweet Garrison,” Meri wrote on Instagram, captioning a split image of herself posing with her late loved ones.

“I’ve had my share of loss, both through death and the endings of relationships, and each loss is individual and has a unique timeline of manageability,” she added. “Having lost to death both parents, three siblings, and now one of our boys, I recognize my coping mechanisms.”

While “life will never go ‘back’ to normal,” Meri noted she sometimes needs to “attempt in some small way, a semblance of normalcy. In each step, it takes a little bit of bravery to recognize and give that gift to myself.”

Now looking toward what a “new normal” looks like and how she’ll honor the love she had with the people she has lost, Meri said she’ll “remember and celebrate the good times and beautiful memories” and “feel the grief when it arises because it inevitably will.”

“But most importantly, I will live, and I will love every day of that living!” she concluded.

Earlier this month, authorities confirmed to TMZ that Garrison died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Flagstaff, Ariz. His body was discovered by his younger brother, Gabriel.

Currently in its 18th season, “Sister Wives” centers around Kody and his four wives, only one of whom he’s still with.
