‘Sister Wives’ star Garrison Brown’s cause of death confirmed

Garrison Brown’s cause of death has been confirmed just two months after the 25-year-old son of “Sister Wives” stars Janelle and Kody Brown took his life.

Brown, whose was found dead in mid-March at his Flagstaff, Ariz. residence, died of a gunshot wound to the head, with the manner ruled a suicide, according to the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s autopsy report obtained by People.

Ethanol intoxication, or alcohol poisoning, was also listed as a contributing factor. While anything above 0.40% constitutes a potentially fatal blood alcohol content (BAC) — and 0.08% or higher constitutes legal intoxication — Brown had a more than 0.30% blood alcohol level based on both his iliac blood analysis and vitreous analysis. Caffeine was also in Brown’s system when he died.

Garrison was one of six children shared by Janelle and ex-husband Kody, whose plural marriage has been the focus of a TLC reality series since 2010.

According to his mother, Garrison sent troubling texts to a group known to his family, prompting his mom to ask the other kids to check on him.

“I want to hate you for sharing the good times. But I can’t. I miss these days,” wrote Garrison, per his mother, who did not personally receive the message. She also noted that Garrison was estranged from Kody at the time of his passing.

Garrison’s 22-year-old brother Gabriel found his body. Local authorities told TMZ at the time that Garrison died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

His parents, who separated in 2023 after nearly 30 years of “spiritual marriage,” announced Garrison’s death via social media.

“His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away,” they wrote. “We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”
