Shaun, 58, is best known for being the lead singer of Happy Mondays and for appearing as a contestant on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! However, the musician is taking on a new role as he will be taught how to be a stand-up comedian for Stand Up 2 Cancer, which is what he was on Good Morning Britain to talk about. Those watching at home seemed rather distracted as they queried the guest’s appearance after the former ITV reality show participant has lost his hair in recent years.
The singer-songwriter has been very candid about his health problems, explaining his alopecia was brought on by having an underactive thyroid.
This resulted in hair all over his body to fall out and he has spoken to Ben Shephard, 45, on the show before about the issues.
He said of the cause: “They thought it might have been linked to that or the fact I don’t produce testosterone anymore.
“But doctors weren’t convinced. They said it might be stress-related,” Shaun said last year.
“But I’m the least stressed I’ve ever been in my life, so they’ve got a lot more experimenting on me to find out.”
Regardless of this, viewers were still concerned for the Happy Mondays star as one wrote: “Shaun doesn’t look well at all. I hope he’s ok #gmb.”
Another added: “Shaun Ryder looks rough today #gmb,” whilst a third commented: “F**k me, Shaun’s looking rough #gmb.”
