The results come from a report by Body Shop and have revealed that Ms Sturgeon has earned the victory based on a number of key elements. To become Britain’s most influential woman, the results are based on the number of Google searches, social media followers and Wikipedia page views the individual in question has.

As well as this, and in a new measurement for 2021, the number of GIFs a person has also played a key role in the decision-making process.

Both Ms Sturgeon and Her Majesty have joined a long list of women with a large influence on the UK.

Just sneaking into the top three places is BAFTA award-winning actress Michael Coel.

Ms Coel had amassed an impressive 1,111,200 Google searches over the past year.

However, Nicola Sturgeon’s Google searches showed an impressive number of people interested in the SNP leader, with 5,244,000 searches.

The Queen had significantly higher social media followers, however, as her total number of followers were 14,800,000 – higher than all others on the list.

But this is not the first time Nicola Sturgeon has earned acclaim for being one of the most influential people in the UK.

The Scottish National Party leader was named in a recent list of Vogue’s top 25 most influential people in the UK.

This was the first time that First Minister of Scotland had made Vogue’s list of the 25 most influential women in the UK.

Among this list included Vivienne Westwood, Guardian columnist Marina Hyde, Zara Mohammed, the youngest person and first woman to be elected as secretary general of The Muslim Council of Britain, and the chair of the UK’s vaccine taskforce, Kate Bingham.

The victory for Ms Sturgeon comes after Shadow Economy Secretary Maurice Golden urged the First Minister to abandon her independence plans altogether.

Mr Golden told Express.co.uk: “Nicola Sturgeon must listen to the Scottish people and abandon her plan for a second referendum on Scottish independence.

“During the Scottish election, she said a vote for the SNP was not a vote for independence, but now it appears she has changed her tune.

“She is dictating to the Scottish people that she is going to pursue a second independence referendum at all costs. This is incredibly worrying.”
