Easter bank holiday weekend has arrived in the UK, with families allowed to meet up in gardens across the UK for the first time in months. There are bank holidays on both Friday and Monday, making it a rare four-day weekend. But with some Covid restrictions still in place, this Easter will likely be very different to previous years.
If you’re caught short in the kitchen, you can still pop out to grab some last-minute Easter supplies, however.
The ‘stay at home’ message has been lifted across England, but there are still a number of Covid restrictions still in place.
There’s the return of the Rule of 6 for outdoor settings, but you should still minimise travel wherever possible.

The following day, Saturday, isn’t a national bank holiday, so shops should be remaining open throughout the day.
However, this weekend is also Easter Sunday, which means most retail shops across the country will be closed.
Large Sainsbury’s stores will be closed for Easter Sunday, although some smaller ones may still be open.
It’s definitely worth checking the store locator to find out specific opening times before heading out on the Sunday.
The government’s ‘stay at home’ order was lifted at the end of last month, but you should still only venture out for essential shopping.
You can only meet up with five other people in outdoor spaces, or two households.
Indoor mixing between households is still completely banned and should be avoided, the government has urged.
If you go into a Sainsbury’s this weekend, you should also still remember to wear a face covering, unless you’re exempt.
