Tragic end for missing woman after horrified onlookers who frantically tried to get the bewildered grandma off a dark highway saw large truck strike and kill her

- The 70-year-old truck driver stopped and was taken for mandatory testing
An elderly woman reported missing a day ago has been been killed after wandering onto a major road and being struck by a truck.
Sabat Abdul Massih, 85, went missing from Guildford in Sydney’s south-west about 7am on Wednesday.
Her family and police were immediately concerned as she has dementia and other health conditions.
Officers were called to nearby Rookwood Rd near Potts Hill shortly before 7pm the same day when multiple onlookers reported a woman wandering beside traffic.
Sadly the woman was hit by a b-double truck before police arrived and died at the scene.

The 70-year-old driver immediately stopped to render assistance and was taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police have not formally confirmed the woman’s identity but Ms Massih’s family have been notified.
Officers had previously received information Ms Massih was in the Auburn area about 2pm Wednesday.
