UKRAINE this morning confirmed Russia lost at least 800 troops on the first day of invasion.
According to the Defence of Ukraine, the loss of enemy personnel ‘is approximately (to be specified) 800 people‘.
Meanwhile, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has said that the Russians failed to meet its main objectives on day one of fighting.
Speaking to Sky News, Wallace said UK’s intelligence suggests Russia is “behind its hoped-for timetable” and the Russian army “has failed on day one to deliver its main objective”.
The U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken also said Kyiv “could well be under siege” as U.S. officials believe this is an attempt by President Putin to dismantle the government and ultimately, replace it with his own regime.
