Prince Harry to escape Oprah criticism after Philip funeral as he rushes back to Meghan

Prince Harry will reunite with the Royal Family tomorrow at Prince Philip’s ceremonial funeral after stepping down as a senior royal and relocating to the US with Meghan Markle. The heavily pregnant Duchess of Sussex is staying in America on doctor’s orders and royal editor Russell Myers has revealed on Lorraine the Duke of Sussex will likely rush back to be with his wife.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not returned to the UK since their bombshell interview with Oprah.

Lorraine presenter Ranvir Singh questioned whether their claims would be challenged by the Royal Family while Harry was in the UK.

“The funeral is tomorrow, on Sunday he could be free to go back to America should he wish,” Ranvir said.

“Do we know whether he’s going to stay on to build bridges or go back?”

Questioning the layout of the funeral procession, Ranvir asked: “Harry and William are not walking shoulder to shoulder, is this unusual?”

The Royal Editor continued: “It’s part of the conversation and certainly we were expecting members of the Royal Family to stand shoulder to shoulder albeit socially distancing.

“But indeed the Queen as she has done with all the other details has decided that Peter Phillips, their cousin, Princess Anne’s son, will stand in the middle of them.

“Now there is a little bit of an odd number thing going on so Peter Phillips could have gone elsewhere.”

“However, because of the deep rift that we’ve spoken about for so long it was decided that they should be separated,” he added.

“Now I don’t think this is probably the occasion to bring that all up.

“Certainly the family will all be hoping everyone can put their disputes aside, this is at its centre a family united in greed.

“They will want to putting their disputes aside to commemorate the Duke.”

Lorraine airs on weekdays on ITV at 9am. Coverage of Prince Philip’s funeral will air tomorrow on BBC One at 12.30pm and ITV at 1.15pm.
