Piers Morgan takes swipe at GMB with book extract about 'bowing to the mob' after exit

Piers Morgan, 55, has swiped at Good Morning Britain bosses, as he admitted his previous comments about them in his book have not aged well since he left the ITV show.

It comes after the presenter revealed he had to leave the programme after refusing to apologise following backlash over his comments about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

He posted an extract from his book, Wake Up: Why the world has gone nuts, in view of his fans on Twitter and Instagram this morning.

Piers had praised GMB producers in the extract for “refusing to bow to the mob” and allowing him to keep his job despite numerous complaints.

He sarcastically wrote alongside the image of the page: “This entry from my book aged like a bottle of corked Liebfraumilch..”

The presenter added a crying with laughter emoji to his post, which was shared with his 1.6million Instagram followers.

The extract highlighted by Piers read: “Cancel culture is not about whether obvious racists should be given platforms.

“It’s about potentially seeing your life and career turned upside down for expressing opinions that the woke brigade don’t like, about anything.

“I’m lucky in that although there have been repeated attempts to ‘cancel’ me, including petitions to have me sacked, I’ve survived because I have strong-minded employers who refuse to bow to the mob, and I have a powerful TV, newspaper column and social media platform to fight fire with fire.”
