Piers Morgan, 55, has taken to Twitter to post a GIF of a ticking clock after his Good Morning Britain departure was confirmed this evening. The GIF read “Tick Tock…”, but Piers did not add any further comment to the cryptic post which he shared with his 7.7 million followers.
It comes after ITV announced his decision to quit hosting GMB after controversy over his comments about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
In a statement, ITV said: “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain.
“ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”
Piers’ followers took to the comments section of his post to share their thoughts on his departure from GMB.

Piers usually presents Good Morning Britain on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 6.30am with his co-host Susanna Reid.
Following the presenter’s decision to leave the show, it has not yet been announced whether he will present GMB tomorrow morning, or not.
It comes after media regulator Ofcom announced they would be launching an investigation after they received 41,000 complaints about Piers’ comments following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Piers sparked backlash amongst viewers when he said he did not believe Meghan’s admission that she had suicidal thoughts.
An Ofcom spokesperson said: “We have launched an investigation into Monday’s episode of Good Morning Britain under our harm and offence rules.”
