Piers Morgan sends luck to Andrew Neil ahead of GB News launch amid talks for him to join

Andrew Neil, 72, recently confirmed he had been in talks with Piers Morgan, 56, about the latter potentially joining his new business venture GB News. The presenter was linked to the channel after he departed from Good Morning Britain in March.

Ahead of the channel’s launch this evening, Piers took to Twitter to wish the team luck.

He wrote: “Good luck to my old mucker @afneil and to @frangopoulos & the whole team on the launch of @GBNEWS tonight.

“Great to see a new TV news network on the airwaves & already making waves.”

Many of his 7.9 million followers flocked to his post to comment.

“We continue to stay in touch and he knows that we feel that he would be a great addition to the line-up,” he added.

Andrew went on to confirm that the ex Good Morning Britain host will not be a part of the show’s launch this evening.

Speaking on This Morning, he said: “We’re still discussing Piers.

“The problem is, I hope your bosses are watching, this network is paying him far too much to do nothing so he doesn’t have to make up his mind.”

Father-of-four Piers broke his silence about joining the show on Twitter this week.

He shared an article on his Twitter page, with the headline: “GB News’ @afneil says it ‘would be nice to have @piersmorgan’ join new channel.”

Reacting to the article, Piers wrote: “Always nice to be wanted!”

The presenter left Good Morning Britain after sparking over 57,000 Ofcom complaints.

Following Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, he said he didn’t believe a word she said.

Prince Harry’s wife said she felt suicidal during her time in the Royal Family and said an unnamed family member had concerns about the colour of their son Archie’s skin.
