Piers Morgan interview: How to watch Tucker Carlson Fox interview on Meghan Markle in UK

0

Piers Morgan will sit down with Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Easter Monday for his first major interview since leaving Good Morning Britain over comments he made about Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex. The comments about the Duchess came after she “spoke her truth” to Oprah Winfrey last month – so how can we watch Piers speak his?

How to watch the interview

The interview will be aired at 9pm BST (4pm ET in the US) on Tucker Carlson Today on Fox News.

Unfortunately, this won’t be available to watch in the UK.

However, extensive clips are expected to be played on Tucker Carlson Tonight which will air at 1am on Tuesday morning in the UK (8pm ET Monday night in the US).

Early in March, he left his long-running post on ITV’s Good Morning Britain following comments about the Duchess.

The uproar began when Piers said he “didn’t believe a word” the duchess had told Oprah about her mental health in the interview.

Piers’s attack was based on Meghan’s claim that her request to senior Buckingham Palace officials for help was rejected, after she told Oprah she had had suicidal thoughts.

He said: “Who did you go to? What did they say to you?

Following an outcry, he said on Tuesday’s episode that “I still have serious concerns about the veracity of a lot of what” Meghan said, but that it was “not for me to question if she felt suicidal”.

He added: “My real concern was a disbelief frankly… that she went to a senior member of the Royal household and told them she was suicidal and was told she could not have any help because it would be a bad look for the family.”

ITV announced the decision to remove Piers after Ofcom said it was investigating his comments after receiving 41,000 complaints.

He later tweeted that he had reflected on his opinion on the Oprah interview and still did not believe Meghan, adding that “freedom of speech is a hill I’m happy to die on”.
