Close call! Moment pedestrian dodges runaway trailer wheel as it flies across highway towards her in Bangkok

This is the moment a pedestrian was almost struck by a flying wheel.

The woman was walking to the market when a boat trailer’s wheel came loose on the highway next to her in Bangkok, Thailand, on February 22.

CCTV footage from a nearby shop captured how the loose tyre bounced across four lanes as it came hurtling towards her.

She appears to hear the heavy tyre bouncing her way, stopping and turning around – narrowly avoiding walking into the path of the object.

The woman escapes unhurt, as the loose wheel slams Into the wall of a nearby shop.

Shop owner Sirawit Piyajinda said: ‘We heard a loud crash outside and saw the wheel. 

‘The old woman was also outside looking terrified.

‘We watched what happened afterwards. We were relieved no one was hurt.’

Sirawit added that the driver who owned the wheel returned later that day to retrieve the object. 

He said: ‘The owner of the tyre went to us that day to take it away. He apologised and offered to pay for any damage.’

The woman was unhurt by the incident and there was damage to properties. 

However, the shop owner advised the driver to be more careful next time.
